Re: Star Trek: Lower Decks

I meant it as an irony. I don't need to do something but instead want to. It's a the idea of choosing to do something not out of a need to do it but instead out of the joy of doing it. But that seems to be the issue. I took this as trivial "verbal jousting", fun little debates that could get heated ...

Re: A little historical perspective

I think there is also something to be said about the production team having and using social media. It gives a sour context to some things that might not otherwise have that context. It is hard to have "death of the author" when they are on Twitter and Facebook calling fans who don't like the show r...

And that's okay. I don't need to call them crap, even if I do feel they are.
But with that statement, you're calling them crap.
Hey, I said I don't need to call it crap.

I never said I don't want to call it crap.

Re: Star Trek: Lower Decks

That's interesting because to me, Lower Decks feels like condensed Orville. Compared to TNG - which is the parent of both shows, both feature flawed characters who occasionally conflict and even occasionally conflict because of their flaws. The difference is that LD is shorter and by necessity fast...

Re: Star Trek: Lower Decks

Honestly, I just can't get into it. I just don't give a crap about the story. Maybe it's just me. It's just not what I'm looking for from a Star Trek show. Glad others can enjoy it. I'll just stay hyped for more Orville.

Re: Discovery Season 3 Trailer

Well, it was a show of its era. I think judging it by any standard besides its era is silly.

Also, Dylan Hunt is classic Kevin Sorbo, like his best role.

Re: A Controversial Star Trek opinion

I tend to favor the original or the E. I just love the E. The F was okay, but I guess non-canon now. The A was the same as the original refit. The B was just an Excelsior. The C was fine, I just never had much love for the Ambassador class, looks too much like a Galaxy-class with angles. The Galaxy-...

Re: Star Trek - First Frontier

To this day I think Axanar's sins we're overblown and CBS overreacted more out of fear of competing with fans than fear of devaluing the IP.

CBS has been the worst thing to happen to Trek, ever since CBS got control.

Re: Star Trek - First Frontier

Did I miss something?

I thought fanfilms were over thanks to CBS's rules. Like the rules that came about because of Axanar? I figured rules like these would make sure that fan films were no longer a thing.

Filling the silence

Okay, so as one of the many people in the world with tinnitus, a ringing in the ears, I spend a lot of time finding various things to listen to in an attempt to fill in the silence and make the ringing less horrible. As a result I have some interesting videos to share. These videos tend to be a litt...
