Re: I never noticed until now ...

Lucas has pretty much admitted he stole from practically everybody when making Star wars originally. So I don't find that surprising at all.

Re: Trailer - Wrinkle in Time

I haven't read this in over 20 years...and to be honest I don't remember it that well, But somehow I worry Disney is going to turn it into a "trippy" visual F/X spectacle and eviscerate the story.

Re: Should I assume that discussing the latest Orville ep ..

There are replies I would like to make to this but will refrain for now as it would first and foremost I believe violate the rules on Religious discourse because it would not be within the setting of Trek, and secondly, I am unable to reply privately so I doubt there is anything fruitful to be gaine...

Re: Should I assume that discussing the latest Orville ep ..

I would think that the episode could be discussed without a problem as long as care is taken to not attack actual religions.
But I can wait and see if there is an official ruling, of course, if you want to discuss off forum we can.

Re: One of the things about The Orville ...

I was kind of intrigued by the premise on the recent episode. Of course setting it on a planet that is virtually identical to 21st century Earth lets them save a ton of money on sets. They can just film out on the streets and in regular street wear. Saves a ton on set building. That being said the i...

Re: One of the things about The Orville ...

I won't disagree with you there. Of course I think its done partly because of how absurd it is especially in the context of This show. I know its done often in order ot make a character "More Relatable" but I almost get the idea that with ORville it is done at least partly as parody of that. Riker h...

Re: The premiere episode of The Orville ...

I have Enjoyed Orville so far. I have to admit it was better than my expectations. And it feels like they have dialed back the crudity of the humor some from the first episode which to be honest I appreciate. It still has a fairly light-hearted feel and I think that keeping humor in it will be good....

Re: Dark Matter

I watched the first season on Netflix. Got one episode into the second season and they pulled it from Streaming to DVD only. I am annoyed. I was going to finish watching it. But I was getting to where i liked it and had to admit I was a bit worried that they were going to wind up going "X-files" dow...

Re: The Occupation of Bajor

Of course you are generally being shown the story from the Bajoran side. They have an incentive for making it seem worse than it may have been, and it may not be necessarily intentional bias. They have grown up under occupation and their parents or Grandparents who Remember Bajor before it got stomp...
