If "religion in Trek ... is okay," than a question and/or observations about the state of religion in the 24th century, in how it would bear on conventions of nomenclature , is entirely appropriate ... and supported by the above statement. I tend to agree. This was never about Religion as it pertai...

*Shrug* I don't have a problem with the number, just not sure what Hellsgate wants from us. Well, while I'm not of the christian faith, but the choice in number is....unfortuneate. It has an instinctively negative connotation, which in my opinion, flies in the face of anything Starfleet would do. E...

This issueswas almost beat to death on another thread so I will refrain from expanding further here. Simply put, Starfleet IS a "para-military" organization and shows the rank and structure that should be followed. Police departments, Fire Departments, the Coast Guard and several Federal agencies f...

Is Starfleet a Military Organization...?

So...your thoughts? Mine stand this: Yes, Starfleet IS a Military Organization. It's not PREDOMINANTLY Military based, as their main mission is Still Exploration, but in times of Battle and War, the Federation doesn't call someone else to do the fighting. Starfleet IS most certainly a Military Organ...

Benjamin Sisko -- He is a true Starfleet exemplar. Thrust into a crazy situation where he must balance the roles of base commander, diplomat, reluctant religious figure, civil administrator, and military commander, he pulls off the part with aplomb, determination, and a flashing smile. Of all the c...

Top Five Favorite Main Characters

Who are your top Five Favorite Main Series Characters in Trek? To Qualify they have to have appeared in at LEAST 10 episodes of Any or all Star Trek Series. For Example.... Vic Fontaine, a Hologram(only appeared in 9 episodes), does not count despite numerous appearances. Barclay, with appearances i...

In deference to the massive back and forth about the characters, here's my top 5, in no particular order: Bones McCoy - Argue with me all you like, but, if I hear one more "I'm a doctor, not a (INSERT RANDOM WITTY NOUN HERE)" I may have to set off a warp core breach in his face. This character was w...

Okay... My Personal Canon is basically this: If it appeared on screen, and wasn't totally ridiculous(See VOY "Threshold", TNG "Barclay's Metamorphosis Episode" a few others) it's Canon. I use it. It exists. I may never focus on it and it may never even matter, but it's there. I also go by the "It ju...

The Island was "Okay" in the sense that it'll never be your favorite movie and it certainly isn't terrible...but it's not really good either.

And yes, it IS a direct ripoff of Clonus....I have the movie(I collect bad Sci-Fi and Horror movies).
