This is one series that is very linear. You really do need to read them in order. At the very least, you would need to read the first book "Stardoc" first. You might be able to get by with reading the rest out of order but I don't think they'd be as enjoyable that way. :? And, as I recall, there are...

You are absolutely right. I was more commenting on what makes it Science Fiction to me, as opposed to Horror or Fantasy, rather than why I find it to be good. Yes, it does have to have science and tech... but it has to be science and tech used by characters that make you care about why they bother t...

Okay... first of all, is it set in space? *L* Or at least involving things not of Earth. Does it include a good dose of Science and Tech? I can include "Ringworld Engineers" in that category.
