Favorite sci-fi settings?

Postby Moogie » Sun Apr 16, 2017 2:50 pm

We all know that we love Star Trek, but what other favorites within the Sci-fi genre do people have?

I only recently completed the Mass Effect series (and playing through Andromeda currently) and fell in *love* with their world and the various alien species. We're also wrapping up Battlestar Galactica, which I thought was pretty good.

I only recently watched the entirety of Farscape a year or two ago. I absolutely adooorrreeed it. I'm a big fan of Jim Henson in general.

I was recently recommended to check out Babylon 5, but haven't yet. It's on my sci-fi to-do list. That list keeps growing. @.@ Especially with all of my Star Trek catching up to do.

Firefly is another great one. Bittersweet, but wonderful.

I would reveal my favorites but then, everyone else would copy me. \Y/

I've always been fond of the first season of Andromeda. I like many love Firefly. I am still fond of Star Wars. I love the reimagined Battlestar Galactica. Does the Matrix count? Cause I love that trilogy. I haven't seen much Babylon 5, but I have liked what I've seen. I'd also count Back to the Future as one of my fav sci-fi settings, even if it's not really that different from our own reality, I'll still count the 2015 in BttF 2 as a sci-fi setting. I'll also count Doctor Who as a setting I like. Probably more too, but that's what I've got right now.

I've grown kind of enamoured by the Fallout Universe. Yeah I play it a lot.

Also I kind of liked Warehouse 13.

Big question - *which* Stargate? Atlantis was my big love.

My favourite Stargate is Universe, which makes me a little odd. Atlantis would be second and SG-1 would take the third spot (though I prefer the Ben Browder years over the RDA seasons).

OK, that's just blasphemy.

RDA and Browder both did well on Stargate. However, I prefer RDA over Browder. I also liked Joe Flanagan as Shepherd. He makes a good representation of Mackenzie Calhoun in Star Trek: New Frontier.

I love SGA...and as far as movie universes go, I find Inception to be totally spooky-cool.
