You are free to offer your opinions on a show, episode, book, film, film series, cinematic universe, etc., as long as it applies to that item, and not to the stated or assumed political views of the producers, writers, actors, key grip, best boy, intern, etc., of said item. In short, you want to talk about a show or movie, talk about the show or movie.

Others are free to disagree with your opinion. (You are not entitled to express your opinion in a vacuum.) BUT that opposing opinion must follow the same requirements above that the original opinion had to follow, as well as not bringing in the assumed political views of the original poster. (I leave out "stated" as they should not state any political position here on STPMA.)

ALSO, do not toss about derogatory labels at someone who offers an opinion in opposition to yours. No name calling, political labels (SJW, etc.,) questioning their humanity, morality, ethics, true fan status, or your assumption they are in the business to protect a certain fandom (gatekeeping, etc.). Again, discuss the show or movie not the politics or motives of another poster.

If you dislike something, it's perfectly fine to say so. However, posting your dislike every time someone else says anything positive about a show or movie, essentially stating the same thing over and over again is not acceptable. If you have something new to add, or are replying to a specific point in someone else's comment, okay. But if it's just to state once again, "IT SUCKS!" Don't.

The Expanse

Finally got caught up with Season 2 on Netflix and have to say that I love this show.

There is some great story telling going on here, with some compelling characters, whilst the setting is a little more 'hard science' than I'm used too (or at least hard for a TV show) it helps ground it in a sense of reality.

Anyone else liking this show?

Any show that provides surprises, and stays fresh, is usually well done.

This show is well done.

Other than star trek, the orville is the only science fiction show I have watched since a kid and watching original battlestar galactics, time tunnel.

Heard some good things about this, might give this a look

I have really Enjoyed the expanse. If you can, be sure to watch the Amazon Prime cut instead of just the syfy one.
Season 5 is supposed to drop sometime this fall I believe.

I am also waiting on Book 9 to be released and that should finish the series, in book form.

The biggest difference is the Language. The sci-fi one has to meet "broadcast" standards for language, but the streaming on Amazon they are much freer with it. And the swearing is actually one of the defining traits for one character, so losing it takes something away.

I love the series. I've read the books and the series on Amazon. In fact, I just got a model of the Rocinante from Amazon in the mail, last night. It's little and dinky but I like it. \Y/

Ok.. I want a Rocinante Model. Though I wonder if there is a decent sized one. I haven't really shopped around for it.

I am liking season 5 so far. I am still waiting on the release of the 9th book.
I will probably go back and re-read at some point, but will wait till after the current season finishes before I do.

The Expanse is pretty damned good. I'm not caught up on the latest season yet(I haven't had time) but I mean to change that soon, and I'm very much looking forward to next season. Sad they're going to end it though, and transition to more miniseries stories instead of seasons of TV. Either way, I've loved the show and may rewatch the whole thing before I go through the most recent season.

If you find one, I'd love to know. It's definitely on my list of ships I'd like to add to my Eaglemoss collection.

I found a Rocinante model at Amazon and I purchased it. When I got it, I was disappointed on the size but I still love it, just the same. It comes with a stand that had a background picture attached.

This is what I purchased.

Yeah, I have seen that one. I was hoping to find a larger one as well.
I am surprised Amazon hasn't commissioned a larger one. I bet it would sell well.

So that one is apparently a bit more than 4 inches long. That's not bad. Do you have any pictures, by chance, of how detailed it is? The ones on Amazon don't show as much as I'd like.
