Is it possible to be simultaneously delighted and offended by such material?

I'm trying to remember if this is Pratchett or Gaiman, both of whom I categorize as intermittently wonderful but also slightly overrated.

Funny how non-believers of this sort are fascinated by angels, demons and such. Sometimes I think they believe more than they're willing to admit.
"The angel of the Lord appeared to them ... and they were struck with great fear. 'Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy ... today in the city of David a savior has been born. And this will be a sign ... you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.'”
