My question has always been will we recognize AI as such when it becomes self-aware? It's possible its thought processes might be so different from ours we might not even notice we've created AI.

I'm sure it'll be noticeable.

For example, its easy to notice a bot or interactive animatronic devices regardless of how good they are because they will still react according to their programming and script even if you deviate. An AI would likely react and notice it.

The best thing about this article? The fact that the comments actually included some well thought out ideas and didn't just immediately devolve into "It goes against GOD!" or "You're stupid."

Kind of refreshing. *L*

The idea that AI "goes against GOD" is so enormously asinine it doesn't even need to be refuted.

If anything, it's the ultimate compliment and emulation of the Creator.

that's the point: intelligent people know the difference, the stereotypical uneducated people that typically respond in that way don't.
