Monarchs and the Domains They Ruled

I'll give you the ruler's name; you supply their realm. Note that, say, "Serbia" would not be a proper answer if such is not specific enough. You must specify "Kingdom of Serbia" or "Serbian Empire".

[1 point] Richard I (known as "The Lionheart")

[1 point] Haile Selassie

[2 points] Möngke

[2 points] Mansa Musa

[3 points] Esarhaddon (These people had some cool freakin' names)

[3 points] Atahualpa

[4 points] Peroz I

[4 points] Roger II

[4 points] Louis the Pious

[5 points] Krum

[6 points] Kanishka

[7 points] Jan III Sobieski (Be careful with this one)

Are you guys pathologically incapable of following instructions?

I'll reiterate:

Quote:
Note that, say, "Serbia" would not be a proper answer if such is not specific enough. You must specify "Kingdom of Serbia" or "Serbian Empire".

I'll handle the responses on a case-by-case basis.

"Mali Empire" and "Inca Empire" are correct. "England" and "Ethiopia" are not. They are not specific enough.

"France" and "Sweden" are just wrong ... the former on the right track, the latter laughably incorrect. Sobieski? What kind of name has a "ski" on the end?

Swedes use "skis". They don't usually have them in their names.

As I do not know the former name of Ethiopia (Heston probably mentioned it in "The Ten Commandments"), I will not look it up as, I am sure, anyone would have to regarding any of the others.

Just sayin'.

One of my rules for constructing such trivia is that I cannot use any fact I do not already know myself. In other words, no lookin' shit up.

Just sayin'.

Sorry.

There are a few I knew, but I didn't have the exact name of the realm. :(

For one point, on what mathematical theorem were both Jadzia Dax and Jean-Luc Picard working in their spare time, only to have reality ruin their ruminations by having a real world mathematician solve it long before the 24th century?

For two points, name all the big cats. (Note that any inaccuracy will result in your answer being considered incorrect.) For three more points, what distinguishes them from the other cats?

For two points, who hosted Jeopardy before Alex Trebek?

For two points, name what is generally considered the largest of the small cats.

For three points, what monarch provided cedar for King Solomon's Temple building project? For four more points, over what city did he rule?

For four points, what team won what is considered the first football game?

For five points each, name the Sword Rulers from Michael Moorcock's Corum trilogy. For ten points, name the only female Lord of Law ever mentioned.

Fermat's Last Theorem

Quote:

Their ability to roar.

Lynx

I wasn't sure if I remembered this one correctly, so I looked it up and discovered I was wrong. Too many kings to keep up with in the Old Testament. :(

For two points, who hosted Jeopardy before Alex Trebek?

Art Fleming.

(showing my age, once again)

You're gonna laugh: You're quite right, but I was thinking of the announcer, Don Pardo ... and wrote "hosted" instead.

So ... full credit for you, and I shall self-flagellate for a time.

Michael, it's not the lynx, it's the cheetah.
