STPMA's New Look

Post by Michael » Mon Apr 02, 2018 7:25 am

As you can probably see, STPMA looks a bit different from what it did before the April 1st transformation.

The mods and admins have been in discussion about a new banner, and as part of that, the look of the site will change as well.

This current look is probably temporary, as we haven't settled on a new style for the forums, and the banner is still a work in progress. We'll be working on both over the next couple of weeks.

A note about the temporary banner: A huge thank you to Gazomg for permission to use his Federation and Klingon logos. Thank you, Gazomg!!! =D> 8)

If you have comments, feedback, and/or suggestions about the look of STPMA, please post them here. We will be asking for character art submissions for the banner in short order.

Normally I dont like forums changing their look if they were good to begin with, but this charcoal effect I like.

My only complaint is the empty panels on the sides, is there a way to fit the forum so the panels are removed ?

I'm not sure. But I'll check to see if there's a way to do that.

Personally I like it too. I just wish it was easier to navigate, being able to jump back into the forum right above you rather than having to go out to the homepage again. Or am I just blind and totally missed the button?

It took me a while to find it myself.

It's nearly all the way at the top, right under the grey bar at the very top.

In the case of this forum it reads: Board index » Discussion » General Discussion

Honestly, I miss there being a thing at the bottom that would take me to the home, at least something that would do it with a single click like the old layout. It's a small nitpick, but it's my nitpick.

With the new style template, the forum widens out when the window is widened.

There are now links at the bottom to return to the Board Index, and the forum you're in.

With the software upgrade, I've installed a new style template.

You'll notice navigating is a bit easier in this one (see my post above). To change your user settings, click on the downward pointing triangle next to your user name at the far right just above the banner.

There is a link at the far left above the banner labeled "Quick Links" which you may find useful.

You may need to change the color scheme of some things in your signature so they show up better against the background.

So... what do you think? Like it? Hate it? Not sure? Any questions?
