Walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, swims and flies like a duck ...
There's a difference between thinking Brie Larson should consider her words with more care because some of her rhetoric is ill-timed and badly-aimed ... and wanting her to be silent because women should conform to your behavioral standards, then hating on Captain Marvel. One might mark you a curmudgeon; the other brands you a misogynist.

I tend to agree. This reminds me of the suit involving Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica.

George Lucas and Twentieth Century Fox sued Universal over the similarities between SW and BSG (Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp. v. MCA Inc.) and while the case was granted a summary judgment to dismiss by the district court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals didn't agree and said there were enough similarities to go forward with the case. ... i=scholarr

(In the end, the two parties settled out of court.)

The similarities between Star Trek and The Orville are more blatant than were those between Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica. Not saying they would win, but if Paramount/CBS decided to file, they could probably drag out the case for years, encouraging Fox to drop their show.

I've seen almost all the season one episodes and now we're a few episodes into season two and I think it's ok a passable use of 45-50 minutes. It has a few interesting stories so far the one Liam Neeson guest starred in The Charlize Theron ep was good even if it felt at the start like a rip-off of the Matt Frewer Time Travel ep from TNG The Rob Lowe ep was entertaining and the season finale was interesting.

Although I don't care whether Seth and Kelly get back together

The bad points for me I hate the theme tune, I feels it's just generic and doesn't invoke any feeling in me whatsoever. Still feel something every time I hear TOS, TNG, DS9, Voy, Farscape, Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis themes Stargate Universe had a great end credit piece of music.

I don't like the design of the ship especially the back that to me looks like the Rolling Stones lips and tongue sticking out logo.

Every set looks and feels like a set, nothing on that ship screams it's real to me. I've never felt this way about any other Trek or Sci-Fi show I've ever watched, hell original Trek sets still feel more authentic to me than these.

I don't like the name of the show The Orville reading it flat off a screen or piece of paper it doe not sound like a sci-fi show title, so I don't like the name of the ship either.

Seth and Scott Grimes are the weakest links for me on the character side aside from Isaac cutting his leg off as a prank in one episode was the best thing Grimes character has been part of.

The humour is occasionally so low brow even I don't laugh, it feels at times like the reason I gave up on Family Guy and American Dad years ago predictable and stale the leg thing aside I don't get more than a chuckle per episode.

All in all I record it and watch it, but I won't worry if I miss one nor will it bother me when it ends. For me it is the most cheap looking expensive Star Trek fan project ever to be greenlit.

I wish it was better or that i liked it more but I don't.
Adventure is out there. )wtf( ::sabre:: ::OT::
